Money > Consumer.Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front Armies will be released in June as a standalone multiplayer experience or add-on DLC, SEGA has announced. I'm sorry but all my cynical self reads in that is "Someone's copying EA's approach to addons/DLC. "Buy these armies that you've commanded before in the last game, but with better graphics and new content in general!" Plus I honestly dislike the way Relic/SEGA is handling the CoH franchise. 30€ at release, for what is basically the entire franchise bundled with the newest addon that also added enough to almost be an entire new game.Īnd that's a standalone addon (Rebellion) doing a better job at advancing the franchise than a full release (CoH2). Without adding any major graphical updates it managed to successfully update the game even though it's only a standalone addon with all the previous content included.Īnd at a good price. It advances the entire game by adding a massive amount of new content and changes. Rebellion is basically Sins of a Solar Empire, with all prior addons and new content. Needs the game's installation and then the installation of mods.įor me personally, CoH2 is an okay game, it has it's moments, however it's held back by it's developers failing to advance the concept further than 1m into a new direction.Ī counter example would be Sins of a Solar Empire and it's addons plus Rebellion standalone. The graphical differences between Blitzkrieg and CoH2 aren't much different and basicallyĬome down to no weather effects like the Blizzards.Ītleast that's my impression after playing the DLC for 6 hours at a friend's place.įor the customer it's a question of laziness.ĬoH2 and this new DLC takes only the effort of clicking on 'install', while CoH1 Just install Blitzkrieg or Eastern Fronts for CoH1 and you'll always get a better gaming experience out of it. If you have CoH1 with all addons it's not worth it, since it's inferior to modded CoH1.
